T’ai Chi Ch’uan
Practice balance and concentration with the gentle, flowing movements of classical T’ai Chi Ch’uan.
Taught by Tai Chi Master Susie Huang, this ancient Chinese series of 24 forms or postures can improve
balance and strength.
In recent years, Western medicine has also recognized T’ai Chi as a natural way to lower blood pressure,
improve coordination, and maintain general good health and mobility.
Put on your sneakers, bring a bottle of water, and join us in the gym for a new experience with ancient roots.
Neo Tai Chi
10:30 — 11:30 a.m.
Please join Instructor Mark Drysch for a weekly class of this new form of Tai Chi designed with you in mind. Neo
Tai Chi is based on the symmetry of the martial arts and the soft, flowing movements of Tai Chi. The 96 movements
of the Neo Tai Chi form create a feeling of relaxation and well-being. It is intended to boost the immune system,
strengthen the muscles, improve flexibility and balance, and enhance breathing; the movements are all gentle and
non-impact. Neo Tai chi is the creation of your instructor Mark Drysch, who has 20 years of experience in the martial
arts and Tai Chi.
Health and Happiness
Friday — February 15
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
There is a reason storytelling has become a craft that is thousands of years old. Stories help us make sense
of events, put our problems into context and find hope and comfort. In fact, one of the greatest hypnotists
of all time, Milton Erickson, MD, used storytelling as his way of doing hypnotism with his patients. In this
program Dr. Giles will talk about why stories are so important, how they work and how you can learn to tell
your story in a way that promotes your health and happiness.
Knee Pain Program
Friday — February 22
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Dr. Gregory Castello, a Lombard physician for the last 20 years, will talk about a non-surgical treatment for
knee arthritis pain. Commonly called Rooster comb or gel injections, the treatment is pain free and the results
are instant and long lasting.
Free movies every Tuesday
in the Auditorium — 12:30 p.m.
